Credit unions donate to Philabundance

Ardent Credit Union, a Philadelphia-based member-owned financial cooperative serving more than 34,000 members, again joined forces with area credit unions to support Philabundance’s hunger-relief efforts.

More than a dozen credit unions have come together to support Philabundance, the region’s largest hunger-relief organization, with a collective donation of $31,850 and around 1,720 pounds of nonperishable food. Ardent Credit Union contributed $750.

“Strong communities are built when we come together to support one another, and that spirit of collaboration is at the heart of what we do as credit unions,” said Rob Werner, president and CEO of Ardent Credit Union. “By joining forces to support Philabundance, we’re helping ensure more of our neighbors have access to the food and resources they need.” 

 The event took place at Philabundance’s Hunger Relief Center at 3616 S. Galloway St. in South Philadelphia. Jenn Pensa, executive vice president and chief operating officer, represented Ardent. ••
