Chemistry, mentality key for 76ers title run
LeBron James coming to the Philadelphia 76ers is great news. But just like other people might be thinking I hope this means an NBA title.
Our home team of the 76ers has not won a title since 1983. 43 years ago it happened. So hopefully now in this two-year contract deal this can happen with LeBron during his time here.
The whole team with the coaching staff of Nick Nurse has to have chemistry on and off the court. Most importantly the mentality of having a winning season to go all the way.

It can be a wonderful country
America is currently a reflection of Frank Capra’s classic movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, which is shown every Christmas season.
There are two simultaneous scenarios evolving. One displays characters who exemplify great strength, compassion and integrity. The second highlights the exact opposite – those who only take cues from our president who is a modern-day Henry F. Potter, with but one goal in life: do what is best for himself with a complete disregard for everyone, both friend and foe.
In the movie we see an alternate version of life if George Bailey had never been born, which is reflective of some of our citizens and leaders. Mr. Potter wants everything named after him and so we have the town called Pottersville. We see two citizens, Violet Bick and Nick the bartender, completely different, as one is suggested of being a “lady of the evening” and the other who only cares about his profits. Needless to say, there is no sign of Mr. Martini, a good family man, who could not survive in a dog-eat-dog world that only knows greed and power.
When President Trump took office for a second term, he warned us things would change from past administrations. I see him only as an angry, vindictive man who believes to be the one and only commandant in chief, cook and apple polisher with no regard if his actions adhere to the rule of law or not. Many are now so eager to copy him as they display the worst part of their character. It is especially true of the ones he has put into power with his promise to just do my bidding or else. Every day we are bombarded with a 24/7 news propaganda that envelops many and has either brought out the best or worst of their persona. We all have a choice – do we blindly support “Pottersville” to the detriment of ourselves and those around us? Or do we have a “George Bailey” realization of what’s truly important and live a life of VERM: values, ethics, respect, morals. I do hope the latter.

Overtaxed Philadelphians
Do you think Philadelphians are overtaxed? Our lovely city leaders just passed the yearly budget. All I can say Philadelphians is look out. The pork included is outrageous. First, all of a sudden they can find $50M for that big hole in the sea that we keep throwing money into the Philadelphia school district. How much extra money is in this budget that you can find just $50M. Then they make a decision to buy the Inquirer building (police headquarters) for $200M. We are out $250M. How much more hidden money is there? This is after overpaying and taking a loss on the building that was supposed to be police headquarters on Market St. a few years ago. Note: Officials, stay out of the real estate business. On a side note: I’m glad the powers-to-be handled the horse carriage situation. Since you have gotten that situation handled, you can handle the ATVs, e-bikes, e-scooters and illegal cars and drivers that are playing chicken with your taxpayers.
