The American Legion William D. Oxley Post 133 Auxiliary recently held its annual block party along the 7900 block of Torresdale Ave., from Rhawn Street to Decatur Street.
The theme was Summer of Love.
There were vendors, raffle baskets, a dunk tank, tattoos, a recycling bucket giveaway, an inflatable and live music by the Disappointmentz.
State Rep. Pat Gallagher was in attendance. Gallagher, City Councilman Mike Driscoll and state Sen. Joe Picozzi sponsored the band, dunk tank and inflatable.
New Foundations Charter High School students served as volunteers, and the school allowed parking in its lot.
Oxley Post 133 will hold its annual cut-a-thon on Sunday, Nov. 8, with all veterans receiving free haircuts. Oxley’s annual children’s Christmas party will be on Sunday, Dec. 20. ••
