Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, 10800 Knights Road, recently held a free community health and family fun day at its Knights Road campus.
About 400 people attended the Sept. 19 event, which included food trucks, face painting, cornhole, pretzels, hot dogs, water, apples, vegetables from the Jefferson Frankford Garden of Giving, a DJ and an appearance by Swoop.
Jefferson’s Mobile Cancer Screening Unit and medical helicopter JeffSTAT were available for tours, along with area ambulance company vans.

Jefferson staff volunteered during community day, which was held in the past before going on hiatus.
“Our staff and employment engagement group asked to bring it back,” said Jim Glessner, Associate Vice President of Operations for Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.

Jefferson Health will hold Talk with the Experts: Breast and Lung Cancer on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bella Tori at the Mansion, 321 S. Bellevue Ave., Langhorne. The event is free and open to the public and includes brunch, vendor tables and giveaways. Register at 267-251-1377.
