Local elected officials and the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce presented the third annual Northeast Government Open House on Sept. 10 at Cannstatter’s.
Guests were able to ask questions of elected officials and meet representatives of city agencies, SEPTA and Northeast Victim Service. Recycling buckets were given away, and people were able to practice using a voting machine ahead of the Nov. 3 election. Light refreshments included pretzels and water.
The event was organized by city elections commissioner Lisa Deeley and City Controller Christy Brady. Charlie Kueny, president of the Northeast Chamber of Commerce, was also on hand, along with Deputy Police Commissioner Michael Cram.
Others in attendance included City Councilman Mike Driscoll; state Sen. Joe Picozzi; state Reps. Ed Neilson, Joe Hohenstein, Sean Dougherty, Jared Solomon and Anthony Bellmon; and legislative candidates Robyn Bird and Rob Gurtcheff.
Elected officials with tables at the event included U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick; City Councilwomen Nina Ahmad and Katherine Gilmore Richardson; Councilman Jim Harrity; state Reps. Pat Gallagher and Martina White; state Sen. Tina Tartaglione; and Register of Wills John Sabatina. ••
