St. Monica Parish Clothing Drive – St. Vincent DePaul Conference of St. Monica Parish will hold a Clothing Drive at St. Monica Senior School, 2500 S. 16th St., from 9 a.m. to noon. Enter the school yard on the Porter Street side. Receipts will be provided upon request. This will provide an opportunity to give to a worthy cause and eliminate clothing in good condition you no longer wear. In addition to clothes, donations of household items, linens, kitchenware, sporting goods, CDs, records, DVDs are acceptable.

Gran Fiesta de los Muertos – at FDR Park. All are welcome at this annual event to celebrate and learn about Mexico’s popular Día de los Muertos holiday. La Gran Fiesta features art, music, dancing, food, crafts and more. Free event.

Lost at Sea – “Lost at Sea: Seafaring Music & the Sailor Cenotaphs of Old Swedes’ Church” begins at 3 p.m. at Gloria Dei (Old Swedes’) Church, 916 S. Swanson St., and will feature The Publick Pleasure performing sea songs, instrumental music, shanties and ballads honoring sailors who died at sea. Tickets are $35 for general admission and $15 for students with ID, with each ticket including a drink. Advance general admission tickets are $30 through Oct. 24. Desserts paired with wine, coffee or tea also will be available for a modest donation.

Philly Cider Week – From 3-7 p.m. at South Street Shambles at Headhouse Square, an open-air cider market held as a fundraiser for The Food Trust with live music, local snacks, face painting and more. Free to attend, optional advance or day-of cider passports, pay-as-you-go, all ages.
