Glen Foerd will present two performances of Gilgamesh: A One-Man Show, John Heimbuch’s solo staging of the ancient Sumerian epic, Sept. 22-23, as part of the 2026 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Both performances begin at 7 p.m. at Glen Foerd, 5001 Grant Ave. The 60-minute production follows Gilgamesh, the tyrant king of Uruk, whose friendship with the wild man Enkidu changes him. Together they confront Humbaba, the goddess Ishtar, and the Bull of Heaven before Gilgamesh faces loss and begins a quest for immortality. The production is recommended for ages 13 and up.
