Parks & Rec baseball all-stars shine

In the 12-year-old Majors game, Red and Blue tied, 3-3.

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation on July 11 held six all-star baseball games at Juniata Park.

Age groups were 8-Under, 10-Under, 12-Under (Majors and Minors), 14-Under and 17-Under.

Players represented the following teams: Somerton, Parkwood, Fishtown, Fox Rok, Calvary A.A., Port Richmond, Juniata, 48th and Woodland, Bustleton, Academy Sabres, Feliz Filadelphia, Torresdale, Holy Terrors, Francisville, Urban Youth Kings and Queens, Roxborough, A’s, Simpson, Crispin and Hunting Park.

Before each game, players were introduced and the national anthem was played.

Greg Stepp, of Hunting Park Recreation Center, chairs the baseball committee. ••

In the 12-year-old Minors game, Red defeated Blue, 9-3. Team members were 48th and Woodland: Daru Almond, Owen Nagel, Quincy Manella; Somerton: Shane Regan, Sean Przepioski, Sean Kozole; Fishtown Olsen: Ben Machter, Antonio Lopez, Luka Olsen; Fishtown Psut: Carter West, Joseph Beck; Juniata: Jhozeer Benitez, Eliel Peralta; Bustleton: Dean Brady, Ismael Torres. Coaches were Ben Psut, Marc Manella and Bray Olsen.
