Young, a standout student, was recognized for his exemplary professional skills, integrity and conduct.

The Youth Skills Building Program is designed to prepare young adults for the future by providing essential life skills, practical knowledge and emotional intelligence. Through structured workshops and hands-on activities, students gain experience in areas such as financial literacy, carpentry and social-emotional learning, fostering a well-rounded approach to personal and professional development.

Merenda has played a key role in supporting the program. Under his leadership, L&I ISC inspectors have engaged with YSBP participants, sharing their personal experiences and professional insights to demonstrate how the skills taught in the program can positively impact students’ futures.
