Makayla Egolf achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall 2024 semester, earning a spot on the provost’s list at Hofstra University. Egolf’s major is Psychology.

• Commonwealth University congratulates the more than 800 students who were named to the Fall 2024 president’s list. Local students named to the list were Carlie Ginter (Bloomsburg) and Samantha Ryan (Lock Haven). The list recognizes students who have earned a GPA of 4.0 in 12 or more semester hours.

• The University of Rhode Island announced that Molly McDonagh has been named to its Fall 2024 dean’s list. To be included on the dean’s list, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average.

• More than 16,000 University of Maryland Global Campus students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2024 term. To be eligible for the honor, a student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5. Local students on the list are Rikka Louise Chan, Rebecca Chapman and Richard Curry.

• More than 1,650 students were named to the University of Scranton’s dean’s list for the 2024 fall semester. The dean’s list recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better during the semester to make the list. Local students on the list are Violet M. Davis (freshman), Kira E. Marino (junior biology major), Samantha R. Sonnie (junior, journalism and electronic media), John A. McMonagle (senior, cybercrime and homeland security), Carson L. Salvatore (senior, chemistry), Jenna M. Gontz (freshman, nursing), Margaret M. Phillips (freshman, health promotion), Aneliese M. Ewerth (sophomore, communication sciences and disorders), Amelia R. Pizzica (sophomore, occupational therapy), Keri L. Gontz (junior, nursing), Teresa R. Fernandes (senior, communication sciences and disorders), Danielle L. McFadden (senior, health administration), Nicole L. McLaughlin (senior, health administration).

• Kevin King was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at the University of Tampa. King is among about 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.

• Wilkes University Provost David M. Ward announced the dean’s list for the fall 2024 semester. To be named to the list, students must obtain a minimum 3.5 grade point average and carry at least 12 credits. Local members of the list at Grace Mangan and Abigail Malin.

Gia Schmidt has been named to the dean’s list at James Madison University for the fall 2024 semester. Students who earn dean’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.5 to 3.899. Schmidt is majoring in Psychology.

• Commonwealth University congratulates the nearly 2,600 students who were named to the Fall 2024 dean’s list, which recognizes those students who have earned a GPA of at least 3.50, on a 4.0 scale, in 12 or more semester hours. Local students named to the list are below.

Bloomsburg: Matthew Bowes, Andrea Eby, Elizabeth Ehmann, Kaidence McCormac, Alyssa Smallberger, Gabrielle Stewart, Noah Weinberger.
