Two thousand candles are coming to Pennsbury Manor, William Penn’s historic estate, for two popular holiday season events.

On Dec. 5 and 6, Holly Nights, the most popular event of the year at Pennsbury Manor, is being held. Over two nights, 2,000 visitors will experience the festively-decorated Manor House and grounds lit by candlelight and lantern light.

Activities will include crackling fires, carolers strolling the grounds, hot-mulled cider and baked goods, colonial craftspeople, musical performances, lantern-lined walking paths and holiday decorations.

This volunteer-powered event typically sells out in advance.

On Dec. 13, 14, 27 and 28, Candlelight Tours provide an opportunity for intimate small groups (limited to 25 people) to experience the decorated candlelight estate in daylight and at dusk. Tours are offered at 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
