Maifest Spring Festival – From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the 700 block of South Street, the 11th annual celebration with food, drinks, dancers and live music, no charge, and open to the public. Annual tradition of food, drinks and live music; with pay-as-you-go food and beer, and limited VIP Tickets. VIP Tickets include a flavorful appetizer buffet, served from noon until 6 p.m., along with access to private restrooms, a liter mug, six tokens good for a beer or food item each ($100 per person). Traditional German dancers will perform from 2 to 6 p.m., with live music from Heimatklänge from 1-6 p.m.

Spring Ting Dinner and Auction – at 6 p.m., join the American Swedish Historical Museum for this fundraising dinner to celebrate its 2024 Outstanding Achievement Award Honoree, chef Ulrika Bengtsson. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, drinks and a three-course dinner by Jeffery A. Miller Catering. The Spring Ting Dinner and Auction raises critical funding for exhibitions and educational programs at ASHM. Beerathon 5K + Beer Fest – an event focused on combining exercise and celebrating Pennsylvania-based beer companies and beyond will take place at The Navy Yard.
Beerathon kicks off with a 5K run (or walk) where participants will earn a beer for each mile completed. After the race, patrons are invited to a beer fest with a list of curated beers, food trucks, live DJ and more on Marine Parade Grounds. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. A Philly-Centric Concert – At 9 p.m., at Craft Hall, 901 N. Delaware Ave. International recording artist Jae Mazor will make his return, joined by South Philly native recording artist Denine, as well as Peter Fontaine and Jesseee B. Doors open at 7 p.m. Hosted by DJ Slice and featuring music from DJ Spinatra between sets. PlazaPalooza – From 1-7 p.m. at Triangle Park, 23rd and South streets. There will be live music all day, face painting and balloon animals, food trucks and the kiddie train. Igloo, Graces Tavern and shops on Grays Ferry Avenue will be open for business. And new this year, a market with 15 local vendors. Rain date May 19.

Bikeout – Cyclists are invited to experience a hassle-free overnight bike camping trip over the Memorial Day weekend on the next Bikeout group ride. Hosted by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, promises a weekend of outdoor adventure along Greater Philadelphia’s Circuit Trails network. Riders will gather near the art museum and travel about 38 miles along the Schuylkill River and the Perkiomen Creek before spending the night at Camp Kweebec and riding back to Center City the following day. Staff will transport all gear, leaving participants free to enjoy the ride with guidance from Bikeout volunteers and mechanical support from Keystone Bicycle Co. The Big Dill – From noon to 7 p.m. at Xfinity Live!, the world’s largest pickle party is coming to Philadelphia. The venue, located at 1100 Pattison Ave., will transform into the epicenter of the ultimate pickle celebration, brimming with good times and great vibes.

Vegandale – At the Navy Yard, a diverse and growing list of food, beverage and lifestyle vendors from around the world, promising attendees an opportunity to try the best and newest in vegan products. In particular, the Philadelphia edition is set to showcase both local and vendors from around the world, offering an opportunity for attendees to try dishes and products not readily available elsewhere.
