Juneteenth Block Party – From noon to 7 p.m. at the African American Museum in Philadelphia, 701 Arch St. The Block Party and Free Museum Day will feature live performances including headliners Kid ‘n Play, a vendor village, food trucks, art-making and interactive activities. Free admission to AAMP will be offered throughout the day, providing guests with full access to the Museum, including the Museum’s featured exhibition, “Imprint: Dox Thrash, Black Life and American Culture.” Advance registration for timed-entry admission is strongly encouraged and can be completed online at aampmuseum.org. Wawa will also distribute free smoothies from its Community Care vehicle from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., while supplies last, and share employment opportunities and giveaways at its exhibitor table at the event.

Black Music City Grantee Showcase – A highlight of Juneteenth in Philadelphia will be the reveal of new artistic works and performances created in tribute to Philadelphia’s black music heritage. The free, all-ages Black Music City Grantee Showcase will celebrate the 30 recipients of Black Music City 2024 artistic grants and showcase their creations at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia from 5-9 p.m.

Midsommarfest – From 4-7 p.m. at the American Swedish Historical Museum, hoist the maypole, dance in celebration, and eat smörgåstårta. Admission to the event includes traditional folk music by the Last Chance duo, family activities and full access to the Museum. Food and flower crowns will be available for purchase. Free Pride Celebration and Concert with The Philadelphia Orchestra – at 7 p.m. at Marian Anderson Hall. The Philadelphia Orchestra and Ensemble Arts celebrate Pride with free plaza events and an Orchestra performance hosted by Sapphira Cristál. The concert will feature music by LGBTQ+ composers and allies including works by Bernstein and Copland. Joining in are the ANNA Crusis Feminist Choir, the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus and Philadelphia Voices of Pride. The concert is free, but tickets are required and are available at www.philorch.org/pride. Seating is general admission and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our City, Your Orchestra Live – at 7 p.m. at the Temple Performing Arts Center. The Philadelphia Orchestra is traveling up Broad Street to Temple University for a free community performance honoring North Philadelphia and the surrounding community. Featuring works by Adolphus Hailstork; Joseph Bologne; Chevalier de Saint-Georges; Scott Joplin; Florence Price; Duke Ellington; Jessie Montgomery; and William Grant Still, this concert highlights black composers as well as contemporary composers. Tickets for the concert are free, but reservations are encouraged and are available at www.philorch.org/ocyo-live.

Patriot Concert – at noon at the Marian Anderson Hall. Join the Philadelphia Orchestra and Ensemble Arts paying homage to America’s independence with a free concert and celebration. Hear conductor Jeff Tyzik lead the Orchestra in works like Sousa’s “The Stars and Stripes Forever” March and “Liberty Bell” March and selections from John Williams’ scores for The Patriot and Lincoln, honoring the nation and service members. The concert is free, but tickets are required and are available at www.philorch.org/party-on-the-plaza/. Seating is general admission and on a first-come, first-served basis.

ASHM Craft & Demonstration Day – From noon to 4 p.m., the American Swedish Historical Museum invites those who would like to demonstrate or sell their hemslöjd, or handmade, crafts at its Craft Fair and Demonstration Day. The event will feature crafts, family activities and food. Vendor applications are due on June 30. There is no vendor fee for demonstrators and a $25 fee for those selling their crafts.
