The dangers of media mirroring our real life
No doubt reality’s narrative dictates a scary and unpredictable future. Thus, it would stand to reason that the last thing we need as a society is to mirror said scariness by displaying such uncertainties to future generations. Isn’t it enough that the chaotic state of this country reflects the horrific happenings of cinema and television alike? Surely, the plethora of evil movies, the emergence of inappropriate and lewd occurrences on the big screen, small screen and, of course, social media have risen red flags to who is to blame for our moral abyss.
Invariably, parents should be key in keeping young minds on the straight and narrow. However, parents cannot be omnipresent. Somehow, my generation dropped the ball, the generation after that dropped the ball, etc., and it is up to someone to pick it up. Until then, we owe it to our children and children’s children to educate the upcoming youth, for we have the responsibility of teaching our future proteges the value of braving a storm that is currently brewing beneath the surface of indifference. We owe our children at least the effort.

I’m glad to see that City Council (aka Clown Show) is taking on the hard problems facing the city like real estate over-taxation. Minus-1 percent of the city population couldn’t care less about drag shows being compared to adult cabarets. While 100% care about the over-enforcement of speed cameras. How about doing something about them instead of people who want to play dress-up.

American workers are depending on us
For decades, the American people have been distracted from the real issues that have been facing America and its future. As the candidates for all levels of public office debate various subjects, it is vitally important for them to direct their focus on the main issues facing America. Some of these issues include the need for more jobs and job training programs so Americans have every opportunity to support themselves and add to the well-being of America’s economy and its future.
Americans also want to know that the officials they elect and pay to do a job have the ability to urge private sector businesses to restore jobs in the districts they are elected to represent, and are able to create and document realistic plans to make the changes needed to move forward in the United States.
As we prepare for the general election in November, every eligible American is asked to be registered and to vote. Change can only happen when we are united for the well-being of the United States of America, which is the greatest nation on earth.
