Musk has set the standard

I was surprised to find that Elon Musk’s ongoing audit of the federal government is turning up billions in specific fraud and waste.

FEMA funding luxury hotels for migrants? (We had been told that wasn’t true.) A 150-year-old Social Security recipient? C’mon, clean up the books.

I’d like to see that same hi-tech approach to an audit of Philadelphia, and even the suburban counties.

Our property taxes are now obscene, paying for just how much fraud and waste?

Taxes are so high they are removing our choices and damaging our lives. Here’s my story.

I have been searching for a retirement community. Homes at “Arbours” on Southampton Road are just stick-built on slabs, most with no basements. Tiny clubhouse. Taxes up to $5,000. For modest senior living?

Try “Flowers Mill” in Langhorne. Property taxes for similar senior homes go up to, yes, $10,000. Heritage Creek, Chancellors Glen, etc. also have ridiculous taxes. Look it up.

It is especially important to audit every school district. It is often school taxes that burden grandma to live in some tiny apartment, afraid to answer the door, while your modern school looks like a resort hotel.

Mr. Musk has set the standard. Use AI, track all payments and, above all, make sure the auditor is independent of the old-boy political network. Let’s start a movement. We need to demand transparent auditing. Democrats need to join us, not fight us.

Remember, the bigger the government, the smaller the citizen. The more you are taxed, the less freedom you have to live the life you choose. We seniors are sure finding that out.

No guts

The mayor and City Council keep babbling about the housing situation in the city. We definitely need more and we are sitting on a mother lode that they continually ignore for political reasons. The Sheriff’s Office has been sitting on sheriff sale houses since before the pandemic. They have been sitting on deeds of purchased properties and holding up their rehab. Yet the mayor and City Council refuse to say anything bad or do anything to improve the office. The politicians want to solve the housing situation. It’s time for them to stop sitting on their hands and close the Sheriff’s Office. Get some guts.

Americans are more selective

As the American people see more advertisements in the media promoting the Made in the USA label, sales of American-made products have been growing. For several years, Americans have become more selective of what they purchase at small and large stores and on the internet. People are looking at labels and speaking up in support of American made. This is great because more products with American-made labels are being circulated and it is encouraging more businesses to expand in America.

The fact that more people want to support American businesses has been helping to keep Americans employed and able to earn a living to support themselves and their families. It also means American-made businesses are able to circulate more of their products as the inventory of American-made products moves off of store shelves.

In recent years, businesses that supply both large stores and local stores are reporting that they have been requesting more American-made products from their local and national merchandisers. This has been helping businesses expand their product lines in America to compete with foreign imports. All of this is happening because America’s consumers are showing their support for American workers, America’s economy and America’s future.

We all know it is still difficult to find American-made products in most stores, however, every time an American-made or assembled product is sold in the USA, we see more light at the end of the tunnel and more employment opportunities for American workers.

Thanks for spreading the word about the Buy American Made Campaign to your family and friends. Your participation is appreciated. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome. Email them to Michael@AmericanWorkersRadio.com.
