America is burning

My daughter in Florida called and said our cars were being broken into. In fact all the cars in my neighborhood were. My Ring camera recorded that incident on 1/9/25 at 10:38 p.m. My wife and I were awake as were most of our neighbors.

Ring captured two thieves going through the cars. Amazingly they were in no hurry, as if they were looking at Victorian homes in Cape May. They were not worried about being caught. And if they were, they knew nothing would happen.

I called the police, an officer arrived at 2:10 a.m. to take a report. He reminded me that what I would report was being transmitted live. I wondered to myself, “Who was listening to the criminal?” I re-evaluated that thought, because in “Progressive logic” criminals are victims. And we who report it are the criminals.

The officer said, “Stay in your home. Everything else is just ‘property’ and can be replaced.” I replied that I and my wife worked and cared for our property. It is our way of life. I could not just sit and wait for the criminals to victimize us.

America’s founders understood that. They wrote that protection in the Constitution through the Fifth and 14th Amendments. But political optics were placed above protecting American citizens. Lawlessness was burning into the new “social” law of the land.

America is burning. While California’s wildfires catch our attention and empathy, it is a place where their leaders taking responsibility is like juggling water. The fashionable and forced orthodoxies of pronouns, DEI, transsexual library readings, etc. created a culture of fear, racial division and free-speech suppression.

This line of perverted thinking does not comport with people who have had to struggle, endure hardship. The woke Zeitgeist applies for the takers. It works for the progressive left who give affirmation and get-out-of-jail cards to criminals, mindlessly adding to the social conflagration that is ravaging our land.

The following day, a police neighbor told me he was taking his daughter’s car to get an estimate for her car being broken into. The thieves punched through the door handle and lock. Depending on the door complexity there was $500 to $900 damage. It is the very reason I do not lock my cars or keep valuables in them.

Another neighbor had his Ring camera recording the thief with an electronic “code grabber” that unlocked his locked car.

Verily, criminals have become smarter, more secure. Who then will protect us?

Our leaders? DA Krasner? Rep. Boyle? Our police and firefighters have been sullied, vilified and defunded. It defies comprehension that the men and women in blue can still honor their oath.

So respected neighbors, it now is up to us to push back, by calling out these woke “leaders” and protest their disastrous fiats. We can best neutralize them by organizing them out of office. And tracking down those who fund them.

Let them know that we are not disciples of mindless burning and that America is a place where freedom is cherished, and the law respected especially by those who have fought for it. Semper Fi.
