Thank officers for risking their lives

Since the first police department was formed in 1845, thousands of men and women have taken the oath to protect and serve. Every day, these brave individuals put on their uniforms and say goodbye to their loved ones without the certainty that they’ll return. No matter the circumstance, police officers continuously strive to uphold their vow to protect others.

Jan. 9 marked National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Since 2015, this gives the public a chance to show its gratitude to the over 900,000 law enforcement officers in our nation. In light of this, we invite you to support those who protect our cities and towns.

A thank you can take many forms:

Share a positive story about the role of police in your community.

Replace a porch light with a blue lightbulb.

Post on social media using #BackTheBlue or #LawEnforcmentAppreciationDay.

Send thank you cards to your local department.

While these are just a few ideas, there are many ways to show your gratitude to those who bravely serve. Of them all, the easiest is to simply thank an officer in person; a warm smile and kind words speak volumes. When you see law enforcement personnel in your lives, walk up to them and start a conversation. After all, officers risk their lives to protect ours – showing our gratitude is the least we can do. On behalf of Pennsylvania’s law enforcement, thank you for your support.

Joseph Regan, President

Fraternal Order of Police, Pennsylvania State Lodge

Own up, Joe

While the Democrats are criticizing Trump’s cabinet picks, what did any of Biden’s cabinet members do for the American people?

Where was Transportation Secretary Pete “Sitting-on-his-butt” Buttigieg after the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, the Boeing aircraft-parts breaking off and then the collapse of the Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland?

Where was Homeland Security Alejandro “My-oh-my-what-a-joke” Mayorkas, with the borders wide open to a flood of criminals, murderers and Venezuelan gang members into our American cities?

Not to mention the horrific job from the Secretary of the Interior Debbie “HA HA” Haaland as she provided the migratory encroachment of 8 million illegal migrants into our country’s interior.

Where’s the Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin acting as the principal defense policymaker to secure our borders but instead his policy was “de-fencing” our borders, allowing the country to be inundated by murderers, rapists and God-knows-how-many terror cells.

Where was the Director of National Intelligence Avril “Hindsight” Haines, when she totally missed a known Venezuelan gang member on the run for killing his wife and then the unfortunate murder of Laken Riley in Georgia?

Where was Secretary of Treasury Janet “Yanking our Chains” Yellen, with her outrageous interest-rate hikes and the high cost-of-living nightmare to our working Americans?

Where was AG Merrick “Wage Garnish” Garland, who weaponized and politicized against the Donald Trump empire, while Biden’s mishandling of classified documents and the Biden family influence peddling are dismissed?

Where’s the CIA director William “Bury the Hunter Laptop” Burns investigating the Bidens’ foreign money peddling and allowing it to be buried?

Furthermore, Biden as the commander in chief should be known as Joe “Not Abide by the Law” Biden, granted a record-setting slew of clemency to 1,500 individuals that included murderers, rapists, drug traffickers and cartel leaders including a blanket pardon to his drug-induced son.

Hey Joe, while you’re dishing out your presidential pardons to hoodlums and “Kids for Cash” swindlers and medals to despicable Hillary Clinton and Liz Cheney, how about a well-deserved official pardon to the so-called deplorable, threat to democracy, Trump-supporting “garbage” you labeled, and a big apology to the American people for leaving the state of our Union in a state of garbage.

It’s time for Joe and his administration to own up to their downfall to America’s downfall.

Media, elected officials should help unite us

We often hear in the news media that the American people are deeply divided. Our supporters feel this is an appropriate time for the news media and America’s national elected leaders to join together to let us know how the American people can be more united.

Are we divided because of the ongoing effects of inflation, the need for more jobs and job skills for America’s working-age and able-bodied people, the need for more trade programs in America’s schools, in need of a more realistic cost of living, a reduction of poverty in America or the many other difficulties experienced by the American people?

It would be good news if the news media helped us answer the questions that need to be answered for the well-being of all Americans. Why are the American people divided?

This is also an excellent opportunity for America’s 535 congressional national elected leaders in Washington, D.C., who are elected and paid to serve the needs and concerns of the American people in the United States House of Representatives and Senate, to offer their thoughts on what will help unite the American people. Many people feel it’s time to address inflation, create more jobs and job skills for our fellow Americans, more trade programs in America’s schools and focus on reducing poverty in the United States.

The goal of creating more jobs in America will certainly help unite the American people, America’s businesses, American workers and benefit American families.

The presidential, congressional and senatorial campaigns allow national candidates of both parties to document how they will unite us for the benefit of the American people and help promote American businesses, large and small. Employing American workers adds to a more vibrant economy in the United States of America, which will benefit all Americans.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome. Email them to Michael@AmericanWorkersRadio.com.
