The 47th annual Mayfair-Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade took place on Sunday afternoon on Frankford Avenue, from Rhawn Street to Knorr Street.

The grand marshal was Ed Lloyd, of Lloyd Sixsmith Sporting Goods, celebrating 50 years in business.

The parade featured string bands, local bands, high schools, Boy Scouts, dance groups, drum lines and more. Santa and Mrs. Claus rode on top of the Ladder 20 truck.

Elected officials in attendance included state Sen. Tina Tartaglione, City Controller Christy Brady, state Reps. Pat Gallagher and Jared Solomon and City Councilman Mike Driscoll.

Stein Your Florist distributed roses to people watching the parade.

Costumed characters participating included Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Spiderman, the Barbera Bear, Mr. Potato Head, Tigger, Elmo, a Gingerbread Man and reindeer. ••
