Matthew Bowes, of Somerton, was among the nearly 600 Commonwealth University students named to the 2023-24 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete award list. Bowes, a La Salle High School graduate, attends the Bloomsburg campus and was a redshirt senior tight end on the football team. He is majoring in digital forensics. Student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 upon completion of the academic year to be eligible for the PSAC Scholar-Athlete Award.

Diella Dreher was among the East Stroudsburg University students taking the Sport Management Organization and Administration class, who organized a philanthropic Pickleball Tournament on campus at the Mattioli Recreation Center. The event featured 32 teams and collected more than 250 donated items to benefit the Warrior Food Pantry. ••
