• East Stroudsbueg University sport management major Gianna Mascaro took a nine-day trip to Costa Rica, meeting with professional soccer organizations, local government agencies and adventure tourism businesses. She and five other students were joined by associate professor Edward Arner.

• Widener University, in partnership with NBC10, recognized four local students as winners of the Widener University High School Leadership Awards. Winners were invited to a program with their families and school administrators at the National Constitutional Center.

Archbishop Ryan student Vonn Krieger has excelled academically and athletically, representing Ryan at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference and dedicating his time to supporting children with special needs.

O’Bryan Pierre, who attends Holy Ghost Preparatory School, has made a difference by serving as a UNUM ambassador, a role that allows him to connect with first-year students and mentor them throughout their high school experience.

Annalise Dubeck, who attends Nazareth Academy High School, has made a difference by leading as a Naz-A-Thon Family Relations Executive, tutoring peers in math, actively participating in Student Council and representing her school with enthusiasm and generosity.

Caitlin Reilly, who attends Philadelphia Academy Charter High School, has made a difference by leading a National Honor Society initiative to bring sports opportunities to “underserved” youth, using her organizational skills and passion for service to inspire others and set an example of kindness and integrity.

• Kutztown University conferred degrees for 414 students for the 2024 fall semester and 2025 winter session. Local graduates were Jarline Herrera (political science degree, cum laude), Olivia B. Iannucci (Master of Education in Higher Education Student Affairs), Alexis Ann Martins (general business degree, cumlaude), Alexa Nicole May (psychology degree, summa cum laude) and Casey Jean Remolde (Master of Business Administration, Certificate in Leadership, Certificate in Decision Making).

• The School of Performing Arts at DeSales University presented the 25th Annual DeSales University Film Festival, and DeSales TV/Film major Alexander Espinoza-Luna won the Best Directing Award for the film Break Up Support Group at the Festival. ••
