The owner and translators made a presentation during the Feb. 13 meeting.

Civic association president Aizaz Gill suggested the group could approve a temporary variance, with the owner returning in a few years to determine if neighbors are OK with the property.

However, the owner did not accept the offer.

Afterward, the group readied to vote, with only one person in support.

Before the vote was finalized, state Rep. Sean Dougherty and Linda Gaynor, an aide to City Councilman Brian O’Neill, suggested tabling the vote to give the owner a chance to hire a lawyer so he could fully understand the process.

The civic association awaits a response from the owner.

Meanwhile, Dougherty told the group that his office is at 7801A Hasbrook Ave. ••
