Comcast has opened a new Xfinity Store in South Philadelphia, expanding its retail presence in the city while announcing a $5,000 grant to support small business programming through the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia.

The new store, located in Whitman Plaza at 330 Oregon Ave., is Comcast’s sixth Xfinity retail location within the city and the first in South Philadelphia.

Company officials marked the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held in partnership with the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia.

“The Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia is pleased to celebrate Comcast’s latest investment in the city with the opening of their new South Philadelphia Xfinity Store,” said Solomon Kim, board chair of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia. “Access to reliable connectivity, resources and support is critical for entrepreneurs, families and growing communities, and this commitment underscores Comcast’s support of Philadelphia’s diverse business ecosystem.”

During the ceremony, Comcast announced a $5,000 grant to the chamber to help fund programs that support small businesses throughout the region.

“With the opening of our newest Xfinity Store in South Philadelphia, we’re bringing even more convenience and access to the products and services our hometown customers rely on every day,” said Dan Bonelli, Comcast’s regional senior vice president. “Whether it’s making it easy to get connected the day you move in with Same-Day WiFi, or switching to Xfinity Mobile for more value, our sixth Philadelphia location delivers a hands-on, personalized experience for residents across the city.”

The store allows customers to test and purchase Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Mobile, Xfinity X1 television and Xfinity Home security products. Comcast Business representatives are also available to discuss internet, networking, cybersecurity and mobile services for local businesses.

The opening comes as Comcast launches a nationwide promotional partnership tied to Illumination’s “Minions & Monsters.” All 16 Xfinity stores in the Greater Philadelphia region, including the new South Philadelphia location, will feature themed displays and offer Xfinity members exclusive promotions and giveaways this summer.

Customers can also learn about Comcast’s Same-Day WiFi service, which allows new internet customers to pick up equipment in-store, install it themselves and activate service the same day through the Xfinity app.

The South Philadelphia Xfinity Store is open seven days a week at Whitman Plaza, 330 Oregon Ave. Customers may visit without an appointment or schedule one online. ••
