This year MLB All-Star Week came to Philadelphia, and to help get the local community involved, Arm & Hammer and OxiClean, the Official Laundry Detergent and Stain Fighters of the MLB, teamed up with Phillies legend Ryan Howard to host a fan-focused activation event on July 11 at Giant at 1403 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd.
Philadelphia hosted the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in 2026 for the fifth time, and first since 1996. Of those five, four have been hosted by the Phillies, and one by the Philadelphia Athletics, in ‘43. The National League has won three of the All-Star Games hosted by the Phillies, losing the July 14 game, 4-0. The American League won the edition hosted by the AL club, the Athletics. The last time the Phillies hosted the All-Star Game, players Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber were both only 3 years old.
MLB All-Star activities took place from July 10-14, beginning with the HBCU Swingman Classic and culminating with the star-studded 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
Taking the excitement out of the ballpark, on July 11, Howard and OxiClean Spokesperson Anthony “Sully” Sullivan were on-site at a local Giant where attendees took part in interactive experiences, entered in giveaways and saw product demos. The free event offered snacks for attendees. Howard met and took photos with fans. The line to meet “The Big Piece” extended around the supermarket’s building. ••
