State Sen. Jimmy Dillon and state Rep. Ed Neilson, chairman of the House Transportation Committee, presented Keith Brune, chief operating officer for the city Department of Aviation, with a $1 million Local Share Account grant. The grant presentation took place at Northeast Philadelphia Airport.

LSA funding is supported by casino gambling and horse racing proceeds. At Northeast Philadelphia Airport, most of the money will be earmarked for the building, constructed in the 1970s.

Construction will start next spring and be completed by the end of 2025.
