State Sen. Jimmy Dillon and state Rep. Pat Gallagher on Saturday presented a $100,000 check to Torresdale Boys Club for a new roof.

Jim Hasher, the longtime president of the club, said the roof is 47 years old. He said roof-insulation work will begin in March.

City Councilman Mike Driscoll was also in attendance. Hasher originally contacted Driscoll about the roof issue, and the councilman pointed him to the available state funding.

Dillon said, since he took office in June 2022, he’s earmarked about $1 million for youth organizations and more than $35 million for the 5th Senatorial District. ••
