Little Flower and Holy Family have developed a partnership that allows some juniors and seniors at the high school to take university courses.

This semester, 24 girls are taking an online Introduction to Psychology course taught by Holy Family professor Bernadette Stunder, a Little Flower graduate. The girls sit in a classroom at Little Flower, and the course is synchronous, allowing the students to engage in dialogue and ask questions.

The course is free and counts toward graduation credits at Little Flower and for three college credits.

Anyone who passes one of the courses with at least a C is guaranteed admission to Holy Family and is eligible for up to $85,000 in scholarship money.

Last week, Little Flower president Kristie Hughes Dugan brought some students to Holy Family’s Campus Center for a formal announcement of the program. They were joined by, among others, Holy Family president Anne Prisco, vice president for enrollment management Eddie Wright and Blue, the university’s tiger mascot.

Dugan is also a Holy Family student, pursuing a doctorate in educational and organizational leadership.

Little Flower students will be able to take other courses in the future. Next semester, for instance, the class offering will be criminal justice. ••
