The two discussed city gun violence and crime and what all Philadelphia political representatives are doing to make changes to decrease and eliminate the violence.

Howell advocates for laws against ghost guns and 3D printed guns.

“Public safety throughout all of Philadelphia needs to be addressed often,” Howell said. “I have family members who live in Rep. Bellmon’s district and also state Rep. Darisha K. Parker’s 198th District, Sen. Sharif Street’s District 3, Sen. Christine Tartaglione’s District 2 and Congressman Brendan Boyle’s District 2. No matter where the location, public safety concerns are a factor and our political government can make serious decisions in ending the tragedies”

“To stop gun violence in our districts and our whole city, more gun violence-prevention programs need to be measured,” Bellmon said. “Also, more funds into prevention programs need to happen. Less of this crime would not be happening if more programs were also installed for our youth, not involving them to go to the street life.”

Bellmon was elected in 2022 to represent the 203rd Legislative District, which encompasses Olney, Lawncrest, Lawndale, Castor Gardens and Oxford Circle.
