Philly Sports Hall of Famers announced

The Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame announced its 22nd inductee class, celebrating a group of athletes, coaches, contributors and teams.

The 2025 Induction Ceremony will take place on Thursday, Nov. 6, at Live! Casino & Hotel Event Center. The public is invited to join the celebration.

“The Hall of Fame recognizes greatness across all sports and all levels,” said Kay Magee, Hall of Fame trustee and member of the selection committee. “From football fields to diving platforms, boxing rings to basketball courts and from Olympic triumphs to the unforgettable 1985 Villanova men’s basketball team, this year’s Inductees represent the best of Philadelphia’s sports legacy.”

The class consists of:

Allen Lewis – Baseball (Legacy of Excellence)

Bo Roberson – Football/Track

Christy Morgan – Field Hockey

Clyde Simmons – Football

Dick Jerardi – Basketball/Multi-Sports (Legacy of Excellence)

Dwight Muhammad Qawi – Boxing

Eddie Coyle – Powerlifting – Paralympics

Gary Williams – Basketball

Jeff Lurie – Football (Philadelphia Medal)

Lynne Carter – Boxing Official (Legacy of Excellence)

Mary Ellen Clark – Aquatics/Diving

Mendy Rudolph – Basketball

Mike Rozier – Football

Paul Holmgren – Hockey

Roy Thomas – Baseball

Virginia Allen – Lacrosse

1925 Darby Hilldales Negro League Champions

1985 Villanova NCAA Men’s Basketball Champions
