Car dealer Gary Barbera and state Rep. Jared Solomon on Sunday organized a pre-Super Bowl tailgate at Roosevelt Mall to bring the Northeast together in the aftermath of the deadly airplane crash on Cottman Avenue.
The event took place outside LA Fitness before the Eagles went on to crush the Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22, to win Super Bowl LIX.
Invited were first responders and all Northeast residents, particularly those impacted by the crash.
Barbera provided hoagie trays from Dattilo’s, soft pretzels and the big screen.
Pastor Nathaniel Holder, of St. John Memorial Baptist Church, set up a prayer station and gave away games and beverages to the community.
Solomon was joined by his wife Tiffani and daughter Charlotte.
Also in attendance were Reps. Sean Dougherty, Joe Hohenstein and Anthony Bellmon, City Councilman Mike Driscoll and city elections commissioner Lisa Deeley. ••
