Sesame Place’s A Very Furry Christmas returns Nov. 16

Enjoy seasonal special events, new snowfall moments and more

Sesame Place will transform into a Christmas wonderland on Saturday, Nov. 16, when the annual A Very Furry Christmas kicks off with Santa’s Grand Illumination. Guests can enjoy twinkling lights, all-new Christmas-themed lighting and music at the 123 Playground, family-friendly attractions, seasonal special events, treats and unique photo opportunities with Sesame Street friends in their holiday best. 

Sesame Place will introduce new magical snowfall moments at the Sesame Street Neighborhood, creating an enchanting winter environment. While watching this sight, guests can grab savory soup, chili bread bowls, cookie and brownie sundaes and a variety of flavored hot chocolate.

A Very Furry Christmas includes several special holiday events with entertainment, including: 

  • Santa’s Grand Illumination, Nov. 16: Everyone’s favorite Sesame Street friends will welcome Santa Claus to Sesame Place in this special Christmas celebration. Guests can gather at the 1-2-3 Christmas Tree to see Santa illuminate the park’s millions of twinkling lights to kick off the holiday season.
  • Santa’s ‘Twas the Night Celebration, Dec. 24: Guests can gather at the Sesame Street Neighborhood for a spirited Christmas Eve send-off for Santa Claus on the night of his Big Ride.
  • Hanukkah Celebration, Dec. 26-Jan. 1: Guests can celebrate the Festival of Lights. In addition to a Menorah Lighting Ceremony, guests can enjoy Hanukkah Storytime with Baby Bear, the Hanukkah activity station and meet & greets with Baby Bear throughout the day.
  • Kwanzaa Celebration, Dec. 26-Jan. 1: Each night of Kwanzaa, guests are invited to join their favorite furry friends for Sesame Place’s Kwanzaa Celebration, including a Kinara Lighting Ceremony and an African Dance Group Performance.
  • New Year’s Eve Fireworks, Dec. 31: Sesame Place will ring in 2025 with its dazzling “C…is for Celebrate!” New Year’s Eve Fireworks on Tuesday, Dec. 31. For an extra treat, guests can celebrate with Count von Count at The Count’s Countdown to New Year’s Celebration Dine at Dine with Elmo & Friends, available from Dec. 26-31.

In addition to these special events, the park will offer holiday-themed experiences throughout A Very Furry Christmas:

  • Meet & Greets with Santa Claus: Guests can meet Santa Claus at Santa’s Furry Workshop, an interactive walk-through experience leading to a meet & greet with Santa, and Santa’s Christmas Dine, a fun-filled feast featuring photo opportunities with Santa and Sesame Street friends.
  • Heartwarming Holiday Shows: Guests can jingle bell rock along to Elmo’s Christmas Wish, A Very Merry Sesame Street Sing-Along, the Furry Friends Christmas Holiday Dance Party and the 1-2-3 Christmas Tree Light Show. Guests can gather in the Sesame Studio Theater for a cozy Christmas storytime and dance along the Sesame Street Neighborhood during the Sesame Street Christmas Parade.
  • Tasty Treats: Guests can shop and snack at the Merry Marketplace, create delectable delights at Cookies and Cocoa with Cookie Monster at the all-new Sesame Place Party Room, and craft a perfect s’more at the cozy fire pits around Sesame Plaza.
