NOVA, Bucks County’s comprehensive crime victim services agency, has launched its annual Holiday Gift Card Drive to help deliver some holiday cheer to clients in need.

Each holiday season, NOVA works with donors, staff and volunteers to collect gift cards for clients to help brighten their holiday season. Every person/family selected to receive a gift card has been personally affected by crime and has been vetted by NOVA advocates or counselors. This year, the need has tripled, and NOVA is calling on the community more than ever to help.

The gift cards will enable clients to make their own holiday purchases. For some, the gift cards will be used to purchase a special toy their child is hoping to receive. For others, the gift cards will be used to purchase groceries for a holiday meal.

“The aftermath of victimization can be especially difficult during the holidays,” said Penny Ettinger, executive director, NOVA. “Donations of gift cards will help to ease the financial burdens our clients are facing and allow them to focus on healing while making their holidays a little brighter.”

The deadline to donate a gift card is Wednesday, Nov. 13. To sign up and donate a gift card, visit novabucks.org/holidays. In addition to signing up online, gift cards can also be mailed to or dropped off at NOVA, 2370 York Road, Suite B1, Jamison, PA 18929, Attn: Holiday Gift Program.

For those mailing or dropping off gift card(s), be sure to include the donor’s name and address so that NOVA can acknowledge their generosity.
