Firearms/stolen vehicle arrest
On Dec. 12, at approximately 8:13 p.m., Bensalem Police officers were notified of a stolen vehicle entering Bensalem Township. An automated License Plate Reader notified officers that a white 2020 Toyota Corolla bearing PA Registration KDR7829 was traveling west on Street Road from Interstate 95. The vehicle was taken during a point-of-gun carjacking in Philadelphia on Dec. 11.
Patrol officers were able to locate the vehicle in the area of Hulmeville Road and Park Avenue. The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the Franklin Commons Apartments and a traffic stop was initiated. The vehicle fled from police at a high rate of speed and drove to the rear of the apartment complex where other officers were positioned.
The vehicle stopped and four males, all dressed in black clothing, fled from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. He was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile from Philadelphia. He had a Polymer “Ghost Gun” loaded with an extended magazine in his waistband when he was arrested. The juvenile was charged with Firearms offenses, Criminal Conspiracy, Receiving Stolen Property, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Fleeing and Eluding Police, Evading arrest on foot and Driving without a license. He was transported to Edison Juvenile Facility.
Sincere Bennett, 19, of Philadelphia, was also apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. A black Beretta 9mm handgun was located in his backpack. Bennett was charged with Firearms offenses, Criminal Conspiracy, Receiving Stolen Property, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading arrest on foot. He was arraigned by District Justice Joseph Falcone and bail was set at $350,000, 10%. He was remanded to the Bucks County Prison.
Malik Moore Ward, 23, of Philadelphia, was also apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. Ward also physically resisted being arrested. He was charged with Criminal Conspiracy, Receiving Stolen Property, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Evading arrest on foot and Resisting arrest. He was arraigned by District Justice Falcone and bail was set at $250,000, 10%. He was remanded to the Bucks County Prison.
A fourth subject who ran from the vehicle was not located. A silver Taurus 9mm handgun was found in the area in which the subjects fled. Bensalem Police contacted the Philadelphia Police Northwest Detective Division to provide them with information to assist them in their robbery/carjacking investigation.
