Lifeguards Justin Brown and Maxim Radziuk were recognized for their efforts to pull a 4-year-old drowning victim from a pool and perform CPR. Their quick response saved the life of the child and, therefore, they were awarded the Bensalem Township Police Department Civilian Life Saving Award.

Police officer Patrick Treadwell, assistant fire chief Steven Enigson and firefighter Elijah Williams received the Bensalem Township Department of Public Safety Citation for Professional Achievement in the Superior Performance of their Duties. On March 16, 2023, Bensalem police, fire and EMS responded to Kings Lane for the report of a house fire. Their diligent efforts in finding and rescuing the occupant of the fully engulfed home are a testament to their courage and dedication to Bensalem Township.

In October 2024, officer Daniel Orth stopped a Mazda for multiple vehicle code violations. The occupant refused to put the windows down so the officer could see inside the heavily tinted vehicle. The occupant also attempted to lure Orth to the driver’s side window. Once backup officers arrived, Orth observed an AK-style handgun on the front passenger seat. He successfully de-escalated the encounter, and police could take the subject into custody without harming the driver or officers on the scene. Orth was recognized with the Bensalem Township Police Department Outstanding Service Award.

Porch package thefts

Lower Southampton Police are warning residents that thieves are targeting iPhone deliveries using stolen tracking data this holiday season.

Protect your package deliveries, as package thieves are targeting iPhone shipments, especially iPhones delivered via FedEx, as the stolen tracking data allows them to time their thefts with precision. This sophisticated approach allows criminals to swoop in moments after the delivery and take the packages before anyone ever notices.

Recently, Lower Southampton Police investigated reports of iPhone thefts, and were successful with identifying and arresting those involved. Residential video cameras captured the thefts, which assisted with getting the information out to surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Law enforcement sources suggest thieves obtain tracking information through internal breaches. Tracking numbers are leaked or sold on the black market.

In an attempt to avoid the theft of iPhones, police suggest that if you are purchasing high-valued iPhones, that you have them shipped directly to a cell phone store for pick-up or your workplace address. You can also protect your deliveries by:

  • Requesting signature confirmation for all high-value shipments
  • Install a locked delivery box at your residence
  • Use in-garage delivery services where available
  • Deploy video doorbells with real-time notifications

If you become a victim to this type of theft, contact your local police department as soon as possible.
