A new ovarian cancer mural was unveiled on the side of Southwark Restaurant at 4th and Bainbridge in the South Street Headhouse District.

The mural was created by artist Sarah Fogg, a longtime supporter of the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation. Fogg began painting the mural on March 22, which was the anniversary of her mother’s passing from ovarian cancer.

“My family has been involved in the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation since 2015,” said Fogg. “The Foundation has provided so many opportunities for my mom and gave her a new purpose in life while she was fighting this terrible disease. It is important for me to continue to be a part of the SROCF and everything that my mom and I were a part of before she passed. I hope that one day we are celebrating a cure but until then I will continue to fight.”

The mural was created to promote the 20th anniversary of the Sandy Sprint Philadelphia 5K Run/Walk happening on April 27 at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It will include the 5K run/walk, a survivor ceremony and live performances.
