Jordan Lee Cook, founder of Loomen Labs in Queen Village, is embarking on another business venture that combines her passions for perfume-making and writing. Love, Jour is an online business where customers can purchase Jordan’s fragrance diary and the seven corresponding eau de parfums that tie into the writing within the diary.

The new project will launch on Oct. 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the brand new Jane Gallery in Old City, 32 N. 3rd St.

Having always been passionate about writing, Jordan has kept a daily journal for several years. As she embarked on her business venture with Loomen Labs and honed her perfume-making skills, she noticed that specific scents were nostalgic to her and paired well with her journal entries. She realized the combination of her writing and the fragrances could tell a deeper and more interactive story.

“Loomen Labs and Love, Jour are both synonymous with Jordan Lee Cook. Pseudonyms of a specific era in my life if you will,” said Cook. “But all me; all my mind. Nothing was ever created in a compromised space. Loomen Labs is loved and will always be loved; Love, Jour is who I am.”

The Love, Jour fragrance diary is a collection of 35 romantically curated poems, detailing Jordan’s personal journey through love, lust and communion. Each section of the book is meant to be experienced with the corresponding fragrance.

The launch party will allow guests to purchase both the signature fragrance collection and fragrance diary, and to hear from Cook. There will also be food, refreshments, love letter making, live poetry readings and more.

The fragrance diary and fragrance collection will be available for purchase on the website starting Oct. 17.

“Love, Jour means everything to me. Everything,” said Cook. “Each fragrance, each poem, each vessel is my world. If there’s anything in this world I can be most proud of, it’s the culmination of art I have produced for you all. Nothing makes me happier than to share the vulnerability I keep away.”
