The Philadelphia Performing Arts: A String Theory Charter School at 2407 S. Broad St. received $100,000 for the construction of a new sensory garden-play space for its students.

The Southwark Elementary School at 1835 S. 9th St. received $68,700 for renovations to auditorium including a new stage and improved sound system.

“I’m so proud to be able to help bridge the gap in systemic school underfunding, not only by advocating for education funding in the state budget, but also by delivering grant money directly to schools in need,” Fiedler said. “I can’t wait to come back and see the exciting new projects that will come from these awards.”
