The Arts and Communication Department of Bucks County Community College announced that the 2024 Bucks County Wine and Art Trail Exhibition, organized by the Arts and Cultural Council of Bucks County in partnership with Visit Bucks County, is being presented at the Hicks Art Center Gallery now through Oct. 27.

For this year’s exhibition, there are some changes, including Hicks serving as host. The Arts and Cultural Council is setting its sights on promoting its members outside of Freeman Hall, their home gallery space.

“We have always believed in finding new opportunities for our creative members, and this partnership with Hicks Art Center Gallery is just the opportunity,” said board member Ashara Shapiro, adding that this collaboration will bring the works of talented artists to a larger community, ensuring more visitors can enjoy the exhibition.

Thirty-nine regional artists are showcasing their paintings, drawings and photographs inspired by Bucks County wineries. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy and purchase over 50 framed works of art on view at Hicks, located at 275 Swamp Road, Newtown. Portions of the proceeds benefit Bucks County Community College student scholarships.

The artists made artworks in 2023 on vineyard grounds “en plein air” or made preparatory drawings or photographs to complete their finished pieces in their studies after they visited Bucks County wineries of their choice. Participating vineyards include Bishop Estate, Buckingham Valley, Crossing, Rose Bank, Rushland Ridge, Sand Castle and Wycombe.
