Alvin, just 10 pounds, is being fostered through Bubba’s Station Rescue, and his foster family describes him as the sweetest little shadow you could ever meet.
Alvin is believed to be a 7-year-old Yorkie who spent much of his life in a puppy mill, likely as a breeding dog. Because of this, Alvin is still learning many things most dogs take for granted, including house training and the routines of living in a home.
What Alvin needs most is a special adopter with patience, compassion and realistic expectations. He will need continued guidance, consistency and understanding as he navigates this new world.
Alvin adores his foster family’s three resident dogs and follows them everywhere. He would do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog. He loves to be near his people, whether he’s curled up beside you on the couch or quietly following you from room to room.
Alvin is missing several teeth due to severe periodontal disease and will need a few additional extractions. He also has a cauliflower ear from an old injury.
Alvin is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He is gentle, affectionate, resilient and eager to love.
