


The Danube Swabian Festival took place on Aug. 30, at the Danube Swabian Association of Philadelphia and Vicinity, 1277 Southampton Road.
There was German food, drink and music; folk dancing; soccer matches; raffles; cornhole, kite flying; frisbee tossing; and a Catholic Mass in German.
Danube Swabian, which opened in 1972 and consists of 3½ acres, will host its 12th annual wine tasting with Victor M. Ykoruk, of Commonwealh Selections, on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $45. Call 215-673-4423 or email wine@danubeswabian.com
Earlier this year, Danube Swabian held a beer festival, outdoor band concerts with the TriCounty Band and the Cardinal Dougherty Alumni Band and a pig roast for the World Cup final.
