The city election commissioners last week continued their “Between the Ballots: No Days Off for Democracy” series at the 10th Councilmanic District satellite office at 1619 Grant Ave. in Grant Plaza II.
At an Aug. 25 event, there was a DJ, pizza, snacks, drinks and “Philly Votes Together” T-shirts.
Vendors included PA Youth Vote, Philly 311, Pre-K for PA, the city Department of Labor and the offices of City Controller Christy Brady and Councilwoman Nina Ahmad.
Greater Bustleton Civic League president Jack O’Hara was also in attendance.
Elected officials on hand were Commissioners Lisa Deeley and Seth Bluestein, Councilman Jim Harrity and state Rep. Sean Dougherty.
Deeley urged those in the crowd to tell others about the satellite offices, which allow people to register to vote; update their registration; apply for, complete and return a mail-in or absentee ballot; obtain replacement ballots, declaration envelopes and/or secrecy envelopes; and request an emergency absentee ballot.
“Take advantage of the access,” she said.
All satellite offices have drop boxes outside for 24/7 use.
Bluestein said voters like having the satellite offices.
“The feedback we get is superb,” he said.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. ••
