St. Hubert High School has received a $1.5 million gift from the Howley Foundation to fund the renovation of the school’s biology laboratories.

“We are seeing the Howley Scholars thrive at St. Hubert, and we think investing in the STEM component of the Strategic Plan at St. Hubert will help our scholars, along with all of the students at St. Hubert,” said Meg Howley, executive director of the Howley Foundation in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

The renovated laboratories will provide students with a state-of-the-art learning environment for hands-on scientific learning and exposure to the types of equipment and technology they may encounter in college, healthcare, research and other STEM-related fields.

St. Hubert continues to expand opportunities for students interested in healthcare and science through its Healthcare Careers in 1-2-3 program and partnership with Jefferson Hospitals North.

Lizanne Pando, president of St. Hubert, said, “This gift allows us to create learning environments that match the ambition and potential of the young women we serve. As more of our students explore careers in healthcare, science, research and related fields, these new laboratories will give them the resources and experiences they need to confidently take their next steps.”

The architect is McGillin Architecture. The project is expected to be completed by the fall 2027. ••
