June discussed programs such as the city Homestead Exemption; Low Income Real Estate Tax Freeze; Low Income Senior Citizen Real Estate Tax Freeze; Longtime Owner Occupants Program; Real Estate Tax Installment Plan; Owner-Occupied Real Estate Payment Agreement Program; and Real Estate Tax Credit for Active Duty Reserve and National Guard.

• Sgt. Linell Jefferson provided a crime update in the 2nd Police District.
Jefferson fielded complaints about illegal car washes.
In response to a question, he said an arrest was made in connection with the arson of the Northeast Philadelphia Islamic Center, 1421 Tyson Ave. He added that, on each tour, the district is checking to make sure the mosque and other religious institutions are safe.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Pennsylvania identified the suspect in the mosque arson as Vincent Lang, 60, of the 3100 block of Longshore Ave.
• State Sen. Tina Tartaglione will hold three community picnics in the summer. There will be free refreshments, a DJ, backpack giveaways, raffles, games and face painting. • Greg Bucceroni, a community support specialist with Town Watch Integrated Services, said National Night Out for the 2nd and 7th police districts will take place in the Fox Chase Elementary School yard, 500 Rhawn St., on Aug. 4 from 6-8 p.m., with a bicycle ride at 5 p.m. All children participating in the bicycle ride will be entered in a drawing for a new bike.
