State Rep. Sean Dougherty (D-172nd dist.) recently presented a $15,000 check to VMSC Emergency Medical Services.

The presentation took place at the VMSC location at 830 Bleigh Ave. In January, Burholme First Aid Corps merged with Lansdale-based VMSC. Emergency medical care is offered in Philadelphia and Montgomery County.

Both nonprofits were founded in 1933.

Dougherty presented the check to Division Chief Chris Reif and Tim Hinchcliff, former executive director of Burholme First Aid Corps who now works in marketing and community relations for VMSC.

Dougherty helped to secure the funding from the state Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant program.

The money will be used to reduce a U.S. Small Business Association loan taken out during COVID.
