More than 50 high school sophomores, juniors and seniors recently competed in the Junior Achievement of Southeastern PA Business Competition and Expo at the Friends Center, 15th and Cherry streets.
School District of Philadelphia career and technical education students competed as business CEOs in the cell phone industry.
Students made business decisions regarding research and development, production, sales and marketing and corporate social responsibility in the competition.
The winners were Sincere Wilson-Mapp (George Washington High School) and Shaheem Burton and Rakin Martinez, both from Martin Luther King.
The students will have the opportunity to join the national JA Titans of Business Competition this summer as part of 2025 Future Bound by Junior Achievement USA.
The competition is intended to teach young entrepreneurs about the nuances of running a global business in a competitive, high-tech marketplace.
Students have complete control of managing and operating their own virtual business and making key decisions. ••
