Bike safety advocates gathered at City Hall on Feb. 18 to call on Mayor Cherelle Parker to include $5 million for the Vision Zero capital line in the upcoming budget for Fiscal Year 2026.

The group known as Philly Bike Action brought a bike-powered traffic-themed float during City Council’s hearing investigating the city’s progress toward its Vision Zero goals.

“We look forward to celebrating a budget that matches Mayor Parker’s commitment to safer streets,” said Jessie Amadio, Philly Bike Action organizer. “It’s time to give Vision Zero the funding it needs to succeed by increasing the capital line item to $5 million.”
