The new name, as of Jan. 1, is Temple Lung Center – Far Northeast, 2630 Holme Ave., Suite 104, and Temple Lung Center – Yardley.

The care, services, staff and office locations will remain the same. Only the name has changed.

The Institute opened in 1998 after a merger.

“We’ve been around for years,” said Dr. Peter Serpico, a partner physician.

Most major insurances are accepted.

Hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and later hours every other Thursday night.

The practice consists of six doctors and two nurse practitioners.

Serpico described Temple as a leader in lung transplants, with expertise in pulmonary embolisms and at the forefront in cancer, COPD and asthma.

Patients can also be seen for issues such as shortness of breath, sleep apnea and narcolepsy, with sleep medicine a possible prescription.

‘We’re excited to be part of the Temple team,” Serpico said. “It’s a win-win. They know our level of care. It’s an easy match. We’re confident we’ll maintain pulmonary medicine for years to come.”
