Holme Circle donates to local food banks

Holme Circle Civic Association last week met at Bethany AME Church, after members showed up at St. Jerome parish hall, only to find a meeting of parents of kids making their confirmation.

The civic donated $200 to both the St. Jerome food bank and the Bethany AME food pantry, which is open on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 2 p.m.

Danny’s Wok will open a restaurant at 2845 Holme Ave. within the next two months.

State Rep. Ed Neilson’s office, 16 Old Ashton Road, will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots through Dec. 2. Call 215-330-3714.

Holme Circle Civic Association will hold its Christmas social on Dec. 11, from 6-8 p.m., at Big Al’s Italiano, 8202 Roosevelt Blvd. ••
