Walmart retail theft
Bensalem Police are investigating a retail theft that occurred at Walmart, 3461 Horizon Blvd., on Sept. 24. It was reported at approximately 1:30 p.m. that two unknown black females entered the store and stole three Vizio televisions, valued at $1,205. They fled the area in a black Ford Focus with a New Jersey temporary registration.

Four new officers join Bensalem PD
Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo recently administered the Oath of Honor to four new Bensalem Township Police Officers — Richard Adams, Samantha Worthington, Walter Wyatt and Vincenzo Primavera — in front of family members, friends, police officers and the command staff.
Adams graduated from Kutztown University, served in the United States Air Force for four years and received an honorable discharge. He is currently in the Air Force Reserves, where he was employed as a sheet metal technician before leaving to become a Bensalem Township Police officer. Adams graduated from the Temple University Police Academy on Oct. 11.
Worthington graduated from Millersville University in 2020 and worked as an intern at the Bensalem Township Police Department while attending college. She was hired as a community service officer for Bensalem Police in 2020, but she has continued to strive to become a police officer. She graduated from the Temple University Police Academy on Oct. 11, and has reached her goal.
Wyatt attended Temple University and graduated from the Philadelphia Police Academy in 2017. He has been a Philadelphia Police officer in the 35th District for seven years. During his time in Philadelphia, he received numerous commendations, including Officer of the Month in July 2018.
Primavera graduated from Temple University and received his health/physical education certificate at Eastern University. He was a physical education teacher for Council Rock High School North for two years before attending the Philadelphia Police Academy and becoming a Philadelphia Police officer in June of this year.
Just for the Kids fundraiser
Members of the Bensalem Township Police Department recently challenged the Bensalem High School basketball team to raise money for the Just for the Kids Education Foundation.
Bensalem Police had a strong first half, but the BHS students roared back in the second half and came just short of beating the police officers. The final score was BHS 50 and BTPD 53.
Proceeds from the event will fund special projects in the Bensalem Township School District, enriching students’ educational journey.
Run for Blue
Members of the Bensalem Township Police Department recently participated in the annual 5-mile Market Street “Run for Blue.”
The race began at Front and Dock streets and ended at a street festival at 2nd and Market in Philadelphia.
This event raises funds for the Philadelphia Police Foundation, which provides support and resources to all PPD officers and their families.
Bensalem Police had a 20-person squad that ran the 5 miles for this cause.
